Swarnaprashana

Swarnaprashana is a classical Ayurvedic practice described in the Kashyapa Samhita — one of the oldest paediatric Ayurvedic texts. It involves administering a preparation of purified gold (Swarna Bhasma) combined with honey, ghee, and cognitive herbs to children on auspicious Pushya Nakshatra days.

Benefits for Children

  • Immunity — strengthens the child’s natural defence against infections
  • Intelligence & memory — supports learning, concentration, and academic performance
  • Speech & development — promotes normal developmental milestones
  • Digestion — improves digestive fire (Agni) for better nutrient absorption
  • Allergy resistance — reduces sensitivity to environmental allergens

Who Can Receive Swarnaprashana?

Children from birth to 16 years of age. It is particularly recommended for children with:

  • Frequent colds, coughs, and fever episodes
  • Low appetite or digestive issues
  • Delayed speech or developmental milestones
  • Poor concentration or memory
  • Skin allergies or eczema

When is it Administered?

Srushti Ayurvedalaya organises Swarnaprashana ceremonies on every Pushya Nakshatra day (approximately once a month). Call us at +91 99806 16152 to confirm the next date.

The procedure is quick, painless, and safe — the child simply consumes the preparation orally.
